Blackberry Bloggage

A few years ago, I got all excited when wordpress allowed its users to phone in blogs. I think I used it a handful of times. Here again is another potential resource I may or may not use: WordPress for BlackBerry. So far, its been a success, though it takes a while for it to recognize the current location of where I’m writing from (Second Cup in Thornhill). Again, we will see whether or not this will be a one-time shot or a regular occurrence.

Had my first class of the semester this morning. Pretty packed. 1 & 2 Peter. Trying to keep on task. Was a bit of a struggle in the fall. Also taking Youth at Risk and the Evangelical Right. Should be a good class. Anyway, my thumbs tire. Time to be a keener student. Bye from my Torch!

The Reluctant Photographer/The Intrusive Videographer

I just recently purchased a new digital camera.  My former digital camera (which served me well for five good years), reached its end.  So I bought a similar camera, just a newer model.  So far, I haven’t been putting it to much use.  It gets used for the important events (i.e. birthdays, parties, etc.), but not as randomly as before.  When I got my first digital five years ago, I was snapping like mad.

I also don’t like to be the one to say: okay guys, time to pose.  I’d much rather be in a papparazzi mob of Sonys and Canons, all vying for the subject to be looking directly at MY lens rather than the others.  I often bring my digital with the intent of taking pictures, but never return with many shots.

Videocameras: completely different story.

So my church has decided to purchase a videocamera to use for Sunday mornings, as well as for other events taking place within the variety of ministries in motion.  I was asked to do a price comparison chart of six videocameras that would serve the churches purposes.  So I did one.  It was very thorough.  Anyways, they took my recommendation, and rented a videocamera for the weekend to play with.  I got to play with it.

It was like Christmas in August for me.  I decided to take my business downtown and I shot everything without hesitation.  The camera itself is pretty small.  Fits in my hand pretty well (yes, I do have big hands, but the camera is smaller than your average pro-cam).  Shots are so pure.  Made my way to Kensington.  Watched a friend of mine and his band play.  So I watched it, through the camera.

Creativity comes in so many different shapes and sizes.  Hope you’re familiar with your creative outlet.

Oops.

I had no intention of changing my blogsite. I liked the way it was. I was trying to add HTML for a site I’ve been enjoying as of late. Its called formspring. You pretty much ask me a random question anonymously, then I answer it. I reverted to my old template, then was unable to return to the ‘new’ one.

And I don’t remember exactly what the new one was like. I think the fonts were different. I was planning on writing something of importance this morning. Haiti, Pat Robertson’s mouth, unity, etc. But no, I’m trying to change font colours.

I guess I could have just put up a link on a blog post . . . . . IDIOT!

The Winds Of Change Are Plentiful These Days . . . .

Last week, I made a big purchase.  I mean BIG.  I second guess myself when I make a $60 purchase (with the exception of anything dealing with car maintenance.  What can I say, I love my Cavalier).

I own a Macbook Pro, and will be paying for it for a very VERY long time.  I’m also hoping it will pay for itself.  I plan on putting this bad boy to work.  Gone are the days of CRTL-ALT-DELETE.  Welcome COMMAND-OPTION-ESCAPE.
